At Heytesbury, an Edward Parsons, aged 70 years.

The deceased was employed by Mr. Masters of Witham Friary

who sent him with a wagon-load of cheese for Salisbury Market;

he proceeded in safety as far as Heytesbury,where he stopped

for three quarters of an hour at the Red Lion;

on proceeding, the shaft-horse being a free-goer,

the deceased walked alongside him, and at Knook Hill his master,

who accompanied him on horseback, perceived the breeching was not in the ring;

the deceased was about adjusting it, when the horses started off,

knocking him down and causing concussion of the brain,

and a compound fracture of both bones of the left leg,

from the effect of which he died in a few hours.

He had held the same situation for 14 years, and was represented

to have been very sober and industrious. - Verdict, Accidentally killed.
